- Your baby should turn their head towards sound or voice
- Your baby will show interest in different faces
- During play, or simple nappy changes your baby will start to make eye contact with you.
- Your baby will have different cries for different needs.
- Your baby should be full of coos and smiles
Some red flags to look out for
- Does not cry when hungry or uncomfortable
- Does not notice or respond to loud sounds
- Does not make eye contact or smile at caregiver
How to stimulate my 3-month-old’s communication milestones
- Engage with your baby during song and music
- Talk to your baby and react to their coos and smiles – encourage reciprocity.
Mama always remember that every child develops at their own pace and in their own time. If you do have any concerns, you can always reach out to your healthcare provide or local occupational therapist for expert advice.
